'The Bible': 'Weird things happened during filming'

"The Bible" was a television ratings miracle when the History Channel miniseries premiered on Sunday.

With 13.1 million tuning in to the five-part docudrama's debut, "The Bible" smote the competition -- including the networks -- and became cable's most-watched program this year.

"Today, more people are discussing God's chosen people -- Moses and Abraham -- in one day than ever before," said Mark Burnett and his wife and producing partner Roma Downey in a History Channel statement.

But the ├╝ber-producer isn't taking all the credit for "The Bible's" miraculous success.

"The hand of God was on this," Burnett told EW. "The edit came together perfectly, the actors came together perfectly, it just comes to life."

Divine intervention or no, the "Survivor" producer did point out that "weird things happened during filming."

Although this bible series is a little off base, (leaving even a hint of homosexual life out of the Sodom scene), I think it is contributing to the prophecy that Jesus made in the bible when he said," And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (Matthew 24:14)

Just think, it's on a secular channel verses a Christian one and there is an enormous following.

You must have missed it..

There was one quick shot in Sodom, in the first episode, where they briefly, for a split second, showed a fat bald headed man dressed in drag wearing all pink with makeup and ear rings.

I will say this

Even though it has some aspects that I'm sure that the producers took creative liberties with, I'm seeing that it is reaching people. My mother in law is a devout Catholic, and it has opened up the lines of communication, between us. She is asking questions about what God's Word really says, and has even downloaded a bible other than her Catholic Bible and I believe is reading it. I've watched the show the two times that it's been on, and I do think there are a few things missing, but it is making people stop and think, and I think that people are starting to realize just how special the Jewish people really are.

I'm not suprised.......

Roma Downey is a devout Catholic too, so i'm pretty sure the series will make the new Pope proud!!

Living a Life of Faith in Hollywood

There's no doubt in my mind that Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have faith......but It's not in the Jesus of the Bible.
