Suicide bombers kill 50 in Baghdad
BAGHDAD, July 18 (UPI) -- Suicide bombers targeting former Sunni militants who now back the Iraqi government killed at least 50 people in Baghdad Sunday, police said.
The first explosion, around 8 a.m., killed at least 43 people and wounded 40, mostly members of the Awakening Council militia as the former militants who switched sides waited to receive payments from the Iraqi government, The New York Times reported
