San Onofre Nuclear Plant Closed After Radiation Leak
A small quantity of radioactive gas leaked inside one of the buildings at San Onofre nuclear power plant north of San Diego, according to a spokesman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The spokesman said the radiation levels were “barely measurable,” but the plant was shut down as a precaution.
“At no point were the public or our workers in any danger,” Southern California Edison spokesman Gil Alexander told ABC News.
Officials say the radiation leak likely occurred in the steam generator tubes of San Onofre’s reactor #3. The steam system, which is supposed to be shielded from exposure to radiation, was replaced in December 2010. Alexander said plant officials will be conducting an investigation into why the new steam tubes leaked.

Thu, 02/02/2012 - 11:10A Finnish scientist has a theory on all this, saying that the earth's methane layer was impacted after the Fukushima/Japan earthquake event (which also shifted our earth's axis by a 10 centimeters; the seafloor shifted by half a football field) and it's starting to have an effect in these other places. Here it is:
As for what caused the Fukushima/Japan earthquakes and the world's increasing earthquakes, most of us have heard about a conspiracy theory that has been running around since the 1990s, when our government started a project called HAARP. That same Finnish scientist mentioned above believes HAARP experimentation has been causing our natural disaster upsweep. It's one of those things you take with a grain of salt until you know more.
There is an actual weapon's program called HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) funded by the US Air Force, the Navy, the Univ. of Alaska, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Some people call it "Project Blue Beam" and it is located at the HAARP Research Station near Gakona, Alaska. It is an ionospheric research program. The most prominent instrument they have is the Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI), a high-power radio frequency transmitter operating in the high frequency (HF) band. It is used to "temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere."
Here's a little more info. on HAARP from Wickipedia:
The profile of the ionosphere is highly variable, changing constantly on timescales of minutes, hours, days, seasons, and years. This profile becomes even more complex near earth's magnetic poles, where the nearly vertical alignment and intensity of earth's magnetic field can cause physical effects like aurorae...
The ionosphere is traditionally very difficult to measure. Balloons cannot reach it because the air is too thin, but satellites cannot orbit there because the air is still too thick. Hence, most experiments on the ionosphere give only small pieces of information. HAARP approaches the study of the ionosphere by following in the footsteps of an ionospheric heater called EISCAT near Tromsø, Norway. There, scientists pioneered exploration of the ionosphere by perturbing it with radio waves in the 2–10 MHz range, and studying how the ionosphere reacts. HAARP performs the same functions but with more power and a more flexible and agile HF beam.
According to the HAARP team, this will advance the study of basic natural processes that occur in the ionosphere under the natural but much stronger influence of solar interaction, and how the natural ionosphere affects radio signals.
This will enable scientists to develop methods to mitigate these effects to improve the reliability or performance of communication and navigation systems, which would have a wide range of uses, civilian and military, such as an increased accuracy of GPS navigation, and advances in underwater and underground research and applications. This may lead to improved methods for submarine communication, or an ability to remotely sense and map the mineral content of the terrestrial subsurface, and perhaps underground complexes, of regions or countries, among other things."
So, some theories are out there that they are experimenting with things they shouldn't be that are having a cause/effect on our earth; blamed for the ramped-up natural disasters that have been occurring. It does make you wonder. I mean, "earth's magnetic poles" makes me think of all the inner-navigational animals (birds/fish/whales) that are dying/beached/flying into things or migrating to strange places. The "aurora borealis" has been reported in the news this year, seen in Southern areas when it is typically North. The "solar interaction" comment makes me think of all the massive sun flares we've been dealing with.
The conspiracy theorists believe they are trying to harness it into a weapon. Popular author Tom Clancy even included it in one of his books. Author Michael Crighton wrote of weather-control weapons, also. It has been blamed for triggering natural disasters like floods, droughts, hurricanes, thunderstorms, earthquakes, & the increased sonic booms and inexplicable sounds people have been hearing around the globe.
I don't know. I'm not typically a conspiracy theorist, but it is strange. I never would have thought scientists would try to genetically clone human beings, either, but they are experimenting. Makes me think of the Tower of Babel in the Bible; man trying to build up/reach the heavens and usurp God. Could man actually be trying to harness the earth's powerful natural elements/weather?
