New Lutheran World Head: The Israeli "occupation" is a sin against God!

This weekend, Bishop Munib Younan was elected the President of Lutheran World Foundation.

The World Council of Churches has recorded Bishop Younan to be one of the signatories of this declaration against the conduct of the state of Israel. The so-called "Kairos document".

"Declaring the occupation of Palestinian land as a sin against God and humanity, they steadfastly adhere to the signs of hope such as "local centres of theology and "numerous meetings for inter-religious dialogue, recognizing that these signs provide hope to the resistance of the occupation. Through the logic of peaceful resistance, resistance is as much a right as it is a duty as it has the potential to hasten the time of reconciliation.

This is additional information from an article published in Tripoli Times, on 28th of November 2009:

The Jerusalem Lutheran Bishop Munib Younan has appealed to leaders of churches in Europe to stand by Christians in the Middle East in their struggle for justice and peace by remembering how injustice was fought in South Africa.

Hated By All The Nations

Many articles like this are rising up lately about what actions could create a hate towards Israel, I believe these are the sparks of a match (so to speak) and soon it will start a fire. I give this article a rating of 5 stars to its relevance of End Time Prophecies.

Lutherans

This is just another step into the apostasy of the 'churches' that would come in the end days. I wonder if the Lutherans have read Ezekiel 37, or anything else scripture has to say regarding Isreal and it's promises from God. Ecumentalism, generic god, denying the divinity of Christ and Him being the only bridge to God, doing things in Christ's name which bear no resemblance to his commands to us...it goes on and on. I pray the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of these people before it's too late.

I think that this is a sad

I think that this is a sad generalization of Lutherans. I am Lutheran, although a different denomination, but only Lutheran second to the fact that I am a Christian. I follow the words of Christ and believe in the true Divinity of Jesus. Don't let one misguided Lutheran ruin your whole viewpoint of all.

true indeed

nowadays i don't classifiy myself as christian anymore, in today's world anyone can say they are "christian" but they may have no clue of what being a christian really means. even jehovah witnesses and mormans call themselves christians... i call myself "born again christian' or "born again believer". when i identify myself as "born again" then i get called a "radical" or "i'm too deep into that stuff"....so be it! all for God's glory!!!

the deeper i get, the more i want! i suppose a true believer/follower does look like a radical to the world....narrow is the road, and few find it. :)

Superhighways to Heaven?

Narrow IS the road and unfortunately, most organized religions believe they can build SUPERHIGHWAYS to heaven. This is the only way to explain practicing homosexual pastors, gay marriage, anti-Semitism, and the increasingly popular Social Justice doctrine. Any denomination embracing any of these is going the road of the churches of Ephesus, Pergamos, Sardis, Thyatira, and/or the Laodiceans. Everyone should take an honest inventory of their church by reading Revelation 2 and 3. If you think you might be on a superhighway, there is still time to get off it. It's the exit that looks like this ->JESUS CHRIST->
