Iran President Ahmadinejad Wants Pope Benedict To Visit Iran
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would like Pope Benedict to visit Iran, Teheran’s ambassador to the Vatican said on Wednesday, February 8, according to AFP.
“If the pope decides to come, we will welcome him in an excellent way, and, as far as the government is concerned, we will welcome him with enthusiasm,” Ali Akbar Naseri told reporters.

Mon, 02/20/2012 - 12:11It's a trifle strange that the Iranian President who has proclaimed himself to be the forerunner to their Mahdi (literally although I can not remember the news article) would stomach a 'christian' person of high standing within a 'christian' church to be around him. He is supposed to be a highly devout Muslin from what I understand about him (fanatical in truth). So it is both interesting and odd and does smell of a big fat rat.
