Indiana unveils its first license plate for gay youths
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana’s first specialty license plate that benefits gay causes is now available for purchase.
Bureau of Motor Vehicles spokesman Graig Lubsen said the Indiana Youth Group plate has been available since Dec. 28. The plate bears a logo with hands in rainbow colors reaching up.
Some $25 from sales of each $40 plate goes to the group serving lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. The Indianapolis-based organization operates an activity center, helps develop Gay Straight Alliances in high schools and assists communities in forming youth services. The group serves about 1,400 youths and young adults ages 12 to 21, The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/zl90uE ) in a Wednesday story.

Thu, 01/19/2012 - 07:32sometimes i really have to wonder about IN. being indigenous here, i haven't even heard this plate was going to be produced or was put in place. IN should be the most boring on place on earth to live, why do they need to make things so interesting? I mean, I know why, but still...they have to have a plate for everything i guess. this sounds like a story that should be hailing from NY or CA. not indiana...

Thu, 01/19/2012 - 13:07I would love to live in rural Indiana. I grew up in Ohio since I was little, but the farm-country I knew as a little kid has been turned into sinful shopping centers and intellectual enclaves. Quite sad if you ask me.
However, heartland decline is caused by a lack of sincere Christians, not liberal politics. I can firmly testify to that.
