God's WRATH on the United Staes

We will now experience the wrath of God.

And when I think that God His son not sparing, sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in. On that Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come, with shouts of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, and there proclaim, "My God, How Great Thou art!"

We are deceiving ourselves if we think that God will not pour out His Holy Wrath on our nation for the immorality that has engulfed us. As MacArthur points out, it is inconceivable that a major party of our political system, the Democratic Party, has adopted a platform that includes and encourages homosexuality, abortion, same-sex marriages, fornication (government-issued condoms), and a blatant disrespect for God.

I am grateful for fellow watchmen (including my sisters) who can correct me with the "washing of the Word." (that pertains to wives, but it works for me!

I pray that persons, and I know a few who wag their heads at my work, who associated with immorality just to favor unions, or color, or whatever else is more important than the Kingdom of God, that they would repent and ask Christ Jesus to be the Lord of their lives.

First let's look at what the

First let's look at what the definition of Judgment and Wrath are because they are not interchangable. That's why I agreed with Abdicate.
judg·ment? ?noun
1. an act or instance of judging.
2. the ability to judge, make a decision, or form an opinion objectively, authoritatively, and wisely, especially in matters affecting action; good sense; discretion: a man of sound judgment.
3. the demonstration or exercise of such ability or capacity: The major was decorated for the judgment he showed under fire.
4. the forming of an opinion, estimate, notion, or conclusion, as from circumstances presented to the mind: Our judgment as to the cause of his failure must rest on the evidence.
5. the opinion formed: He regretted his hasty judgment.
6. Law .
a. a judicial decision given by a judge or court.
b. the obligation, especially a debt, arising from a judicial decision.
c. the certificate embodying such a decision and issued against the obligor, especially a debtor.
7. a misfortune regarded as inflicted by divine sentence, as for sin.
8. ( usually initial capital letter ) Also called Last Judgment, Final Judgment. the final trial of all people, both the living and dead, at the end of the world.

wrath noun
1. strong, stern, or fierce anger; deeply resentful indignation; ire.
2. vengeance or punishment as the consequence of anger

You are correct, brother MM, my opinion is my opinion. Wrath from my understanding has happened often throughout scripture to Israel but God didnt destroy them utterly due to their sin but He punished them righteously yet strictly sometimes for hundreds of years (ie their various times of defeat and servitude to foreign kings). However, if they would turn and repent He would turn from His anger always and remember His covenant then lift them back up for the punishment was over.

Judgement is final. Once made it is made. (Nahum 1) ask Ninevah. There are plenty other examples throughout scripture regarding judgements made that is a final disposition of God's justice. In the end when people stand before God the lawless ones will face not only God's wrath (righteous anger) but receive the distribution of His Righteous Judgement, this includes individuals at the White Throne but also the nations who do not stand with Israel.

Individual Americans can still repent for "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2Peter 3:9). However, we are told that no nation, in the end, stands with Israel. Joel 3:2, Amos 9:9, Zechariah 14:2, Rev. 20:8
That is when America will fall under Judgement. Now we suffer wrath for God's anger burns against those who rebel. Amercia was founded by men who used the words 'under God with liberty and justice for all' yet less and less people properly reverence God. When a people established in God's name turns from doing what is right and seemly they can expect to incur anger from Him. His anger though is always just and righteous. Still because of the ones who DO what is right, judgement isnt metted out... YET. Wrath and punishment may come but utter destruction is not going to happen while God's people who are true remain. For example of God's restraint in judgement we can look to Abraham asking God if he would judge and destroy Sodom and Gemorrah if there were 10 righteous found and God said no he wouldnt destroy them if 10 were found (Gen 18:16-33) When we are taken away, yes, when none can be found woe woe and woe.
Isa.3 [9] The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
[11] Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
[20] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isa.10 [1] Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
Isa.17 [12] Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
Isa.30 [1] Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Isa.45 [9] Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
Ezek.16 [23] And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)
Hos.7 [13] Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me
Matt.18 [7] Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! ( similiarly worded verse found in the other Gospels)

People of all the nations (America included) who think their countries are too powerful to fall are under delusion. They have turned from God, do not recognized the wrath that has befallen them and refuse to repent. In the end though they will see and mourn but even now we are to work and spread the good news in the hope of turning God's wrath through repentance. We need to let the people of the nations know that God can, does and WILL punish those in rebellion.
"For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, (2Peter 2:4-9)
We have a difficult uphill fight against satan and his minions to try to break through to people (not nations really) although people fill and forge nations. If they will see, we win a victory and heaven rejoices in even one saved if they will not then they will refuse instruction and Truth.
"For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men."(2Peter 3:5-7)
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. (2Peter 3:10-13)

So, I do so hope that I have explained my opinion now.

one of my favorite verses

of course I love all the Scriptures but here it is:
Micah 6:8 (KJV) "He hath shown thee, o man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God?"
another (actually it's more of a selection than a 'verse' ;P) one I love is
II Corinthians 12:7-10 (KJV)
7 and lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8. for this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9. and he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Sis, I believe Ab was saying

Sis, I believe Ab was saying the opposite in his post? I reread it several times to make sure. Think he was saying judgment was coming on America because of the Church failing. Ab?

OH

well I am sorry. I misunderstood what he was saying. I still believe that judgement is not wrath,
Wrath being God's Righteous Anger and Judgement His final distribution of justice.
God in His Wrath does punish but Judging from what I have read in the Bible spells the end. Such as, God judged that man was wicked so he brought about the flood to destroy all life. God judged Sodom and Gommorrah and destroyed the cities, etc.
Now when God's wrath was aroused He didnt always also pass judgement although punishments were inflicted until repentance was made. IE. the children of Israel being punished everytime they really blew it throughout their wanderings and as they made their way in the desert toward Caanan.
I am sorry I misunderstood tho.

When you add it all up...

It is just plain bad for the unbeliever, right? I am really counting on Psalm 91 from David as we watch things unfold. We really need to seek every opportunity to share the gospel. \o/ (that's my "Praise God" emoticon)

Puzzled

...I'm not sure how to really express what I am thinking, but I will do the best I can.

Biblically, America is not mentioned in prophecy. As the Bible is God's truth to man, that would lead to the inevability that America is either a. destroyed or b. so damaged that it has no real effect on the end time prophecies concerning the Middle East.

I see an add for Billy Graham on the sidebar of this site saying he has hope for America through Jesus Christ. This article and others lead me to think that some born again Christians are looking for America to somehow survive and flourish...as if the country will go back to Christian values and be spared. Is the Bible not evidence itself that there is no possibility this will happen? Obama getting reelected HAD to happen...it's a part of God's plan. I have had to seperate politics from Christianity in my own life because the two simply don't reconcile with one another...does anyone think that Romney being elected would somehow give America a second chance? That seems so silly to me. God knew that the world would get to this point, and he has told us that the end is near. Things will not get better, but much worse, until the return. Those of us that are raptured will escape the nightmare of the Tribulation.

I think I am just trying to say, and at least it is how I feel....Christians shouldn't be looking for vindication or any kind of second chance concerning the United States. We have led the world in free thinking, technology, wealth, immorality, for years and years. I feel we should be focused on telling those who are willing to hear about the truth of Christ, knowing full well that God is going to save who He is going to save.

The further the escalation in Israel and Gaza goes, the more hopeful I am that my family and I and all of the other Christians will be face to face with Christ in an instant, and that this world will finally be set on the path to purity. No more countries or boundaries to divide and define us, but all of us living with God and Christ themselves in perfect bodies on the newly created perfect earth.

JH77, I agree with you 100%.

JH77, I agree with you 100%. I also am puzzled like you to hear well respected Pastors continue with these lines like, pray for a spiritual awakening in America.
I DO pray for individuals to come to know Jesus as Lord, but as far as this country as a whole honoring God in our public schools??NOPE! What about our gov't leaders honoring God and once again teaching us citizens about how without Divine intervention from our Father in heaven, WE CAN DO NOTHING! This once great country will never accept those words as we did during our grandparents time.
JH77, I posted this link on here once last week and it gives some insight to and spells out the way you feel. Specifically under the heading where it says.."Why Are You Doing That"?

Dude! All I can say is hey, I'm a product of my generation's blind ness to this side of God. I used to think, ya, birth control and condoms provided is a civil service, a real big gesture of caring.
As the now gen would say: 'omg!'
Duh, of course having it the government's place to s protect us is wrong! God says 'only in the marriage bed with the opposite sex' (or, '...that is why a man will leave his parent's house...' if you prefer Genisis style eloquence) The best way to avoid children out of wedlock and STD, so says God since man's dawn, is marriage and fidelity. But, now we got big government. They, BG, say, 'forget what's been said forever, there's a new best way to avoid these things and WE can give it to you because we love you so much and will support and protect you in all your indeavors. Ya. Mean ole God, He wants you abstinent and faithful or diseases and children of lust will befall you.'
Wow, it's taken thirty years to see this! Thanks for the light!
