Glenn Beck's Israel Tour...the LDS connection

I refrained from commenting on the Glenn Beck Israel tour because I wasn't on it and I wanted to believe the best. Jack did attend and makes some stunning observations below. He told me far more than in print here, all of it disturbing.
Jack reports that many on the trip were grieved and that his report is not just from one disgruntled participant. There are many voices saying Glenn is "one of us" -- even calling him a Christian Zionist. But he is not a Christian and he is trying to pass himself off as a Christian. It was clear to Jack and others that the "Restoring Courage" event was first about Mormon issues and secondarily, about Israel.

Fri, 12/23/2011 - 15:49One of your links showed a picture of the sight of the Altar of Zeus. If you could find a picture of Shiloh from the north, where for nearly 400 years the tabernacle sat, you would see they are almost identical. I doubt that it is a coincidence.

Wed, 08/31/2011 - 00:03I love this site, but how dare you make this event out to be something that it's not, it's shameful! It was all about Israel and freedom, not about his Mormon roots. Besides, theology doesn't matter in the end, you're not saved on having the right theology, you're saved by Jesus. Glenn Beck is a Christian, though he is Mormon, he doesn't speak of that often, only the things that are in common with other Christians.

I have watched his show since before he was on fox and listened to his broad casts whenever I could. That said, I don't have to agree with everything Glenn does or says and if I find something that contradicts spiritually to what the bible says I will point it out, regardless of who said or did it.
Did you look at the two links I posted. Some things he does makes me stop and consider, and that's all I would ask you to do.

1 john 4:1 : Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
the bible is clear that there is only ONE God and that He ALWAYS existed, that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a VIRGIN.. no where in God's word is there any hint of Jesus and satan being brothers...

I lived near LDS's and have lived next to Mormons so please be careful. It makes me think you might be Mormon/LDS. Just so this might help you if you don't know... They don't take communion the way we should according to the bible. I know some people use bread or crackers which if that works great... great... but they drink water instead of grape juice. According to them(LDS) if they take juice or wine they are drinking blood and that is something they don't do. I stated to this person that the blood was spilled was spilled for us and that is what we should remember...He debated me on that saying it was not true.... not true? ...they go by the scripture of Jo Smith. I have even had a LDS challenge me about Eve being thrown out of the garden so we could have children... This is so scary. They claim their prophets know the truth...but I have not seen that yet and have often challenge them with the word...it is sad as they seem somewhat clueless about God's word. They have changed the word according to Jo Smith about 3-4 time already in recently years. I would encourage you Tom to do the research and check it out. Please, you don't have to take my word for it, but God's perfect word...always and forever.....

Wed, 08/31/2011 - 15:39TomTom, I'm all for supporting Israel and I even like Glenn Beck. Think he's great at what he does; exposing dangerous goings-on in our current government. But...he has been placed so high by others (even Christians) that you HAVE to look at his belief system in the very discernment that our Lord calls us to. It's what grounds us all and what defines us, whether we know Jesus as our Savior. If he is a Mormon, he doesn't follow our God, our Jesus. He even strives to become godlike himself, in the end (according to their belief).
God is not a "fits all" size for various religions. Mormonism is a false religion, so they don't have anything in common with believers of the One, True God. This doesn't make me dislike Glenn Beck at all, it makes me pray for him. It also makes me exercise discernment when he is organizing an event that involves Israel and many Christians.
And I do believe "theology" matters to God, although perhaps not in the way you meant it. It's our belief of His Word, how we interpret it, study it. That's why He sent the Counselor (Holy Ghost) to teach us the right Way after Jesus died for our sins. I'm studying Jeremiah now and just this morning read about how God was giving His people over to the coming Babylonian invasion because their sins were so great; following false idols with abandon. Jeremiah asked God if it was not more the fault of their wayward priests and false prophets who were leading the people. God replied that they should have known they were false. After all, the people knew the covenant they had made originally with God; worshiping false idols was a known deal breaker. So, yes, I do believe God holds us, believers, accountable for the right "theology," the correct interpretation of His Word. And we even have something the Israelites didn't have; our Teacher, the Holy Spirit.
But as a Mormon, Glenn Beck is in a whole other league. His belief system, his theology, isn't centered on our Jesus as the foundation so His interpretation is null & void, false to begin with.
Many will come to Jesus in the end and claim belief. But Jesus will say, "I never knew you." Because they never did. And that makes me terribly sad. Wasn't I among those once? So I say, pray for Glenn if you really like him. But don't defend his beliefs if they don't align with God's Word. That does no one any favors.

Thu, 09/01/2011 - 08:45I agree completely with your assessment's. I would like to add that i think Glenn Beck is very dangerous in what he is doing. It's obvious to me he is being deceived / used by deceiving demons and their doctrines. I see Beck being used in the ecumenical one world religious plan , and he's doing it in a very deceitful manner. By the way, Mormon's teach that lying is okay if someone is not ready to hear the "meat" of their belief system, (i.e. the cartoon video you posted).

Mon, 01/16/2012 - 13:17I was raised a Mormon and at a young age I knew something was not right and I stopped going and got out when I was old enough to do so. It is a cult beyond belief. They believe that one can become a God and that Jesus worked his way to where he is now... REALLY!!!! After a few years of showing my Mom how the book of Mormon was a false doctrine she stopped going but her Sister is so strong in the Mormons that she will not hear anything negative about it. I told her to take the Bible and the BOM and go word for word and everything that Jesus taught that is wrong to do the Mormons say is what you should do. Joseph Smith was a pedophile plain and simple and to make it ok to molest young girls he made it part of his made up religion. It is a sick mind controlling religion straight from the pits of hell. Mormons are not CHRISTIANS they believe in many gods and we know there is only one and always was only one and will forever more be only one... AMEN.
