Cordova Christians put out welcome mat for new mosque
When pastor Steve Stone initially heard of the mosque and Islamic center being erected on the sprawling land adjacent his church, his stomach tightened. Then he raised a 6-foot sign reading, "Welcome to the Neighborhood."The issue for Stone and the 550-person Heartsong Church in Cordova, came down to one question:"What would Jesus do if He were us? Under a gigantic cross constructed of salvaged wood, nearly 200 area Muslims have been gathering each night to pray.
"I think it's helped break down a lot of barriers in both congregations," said Islamic center board member Danish Siddiqui.

marieisme64's analysis:
While Cristians are suppose to witness the gospel of Christ Jesus, I find no provision in scripture where we are to welcome worshipers of a foriegn god to worship at the alter of the true Lord of all Creation. If they were worshiping God and Jesus, it would be appropriate, but they are not doing that. Words like apostasy and blaspheme come to mind. Satan has been welocomed into the inner sanctum by very misguided Christians. And yet, we are not surprised because prohecy tells us this would happen.

"falling away"
Thu, 09/02/2010 - 11:28Thanks pookaloo2005 for the reminder... I reviewed 2 Thess 2 after reading your post. It's always a great comfort to me in these crazy days. All who read this and have the means to, should take a moment to read 2 Thessalonians 2 as we all need to remember our Lord's reassurances in these days. Stand fast and keep looking up!
