Government Shutdown

I have a question. The government shutdown is that prophecy or anything in the Bible. I don't know if it is or not but I was wondering if yall knew. I know its not good but I know I am taken care of because Jesus will never forsake us.

As for a specific prophecy of

As for a specific prophecy of government shutdown being in the Bible, there is none to my knowledge nor have I ever been aware of such a prophecy over the years I have studied the Bible. Please understand that I am not an expert in prophecy so, if anyone out there knows better please correct me.

With that said, this is how I see the events happening in our nation's capital (assuming you, too, live in the US) and how they could very well possibly tie into ET prophecy. It pains me to write what I am about to post being an American who served in the Marine Corps and one who deeply loves the United States of America and what it stands for or at least what it once stood for, but this is how I see things.

In order for certain, if not many or even all, prophecy to be fulfilled the US is going to have to lose its superpower status and degress to a barely functioning country. Even if congress averts yet another shutdown and manages to agree on a budget for the remaing FY 2011 one thing still remains...our economy is in a serious hurt-locker. I think that the economy is only one facet of many that will lead to the utter collapse of the US.

Like I said it truly pains me to write what I have but there are a couple reasons why I feel as I do. First of all, prophecy tells us that Israel will be isolated from the rest of the world and standing all alone on her own. When that is the case that is when Israel will be unilaterally attacked by her immediate neighbors but, Israel will miraculously emerge victorious because of God's protection. Israel won't have any of her once close allies to trust in but only God. The US won't be there to help her, nor any other nation...only God and it is God whom they will be thanking.

Second, in order for the US to be open and willing to a single world economy, I believe that the US economy would have to be in shambles to the point that a one world economy would be the only thing to help the US out of a deep hole and therefore be willing to accept the one world economy.

Additionally, for a one world government to be established the US would have to be pathetically weak. Could anyone ever imagine the US being willing to be part of one world government back during the Reagan Administration? No way, we were a strong superpower back then and the leader of the free world. Today, such a thought wouldn't be all that unrealistic.

As I said, as an American it pains me to face the realities of the position the United States is in today and the direction it is heading. As a Christian, which is where my first and foremost citizenship is, it is exciting to watch events, not only here in the US but throughout the world, develop and unfold all in the name of prophecy.

it all centers around abortion...

This is written by Tony Perkins:

I Go Walkin' after Midnight...

The 100,000 tourists in Washington tomorrow may be witnessing more than the Cherry Blossom Parade. They may be witnessing history. With the deadline just hours away, Congress is the closest it's been to flipping the switch on a government shutdown. But the failure to reach a deal is not for lack of trying. Sometime before dawn, the two sides finally called it a night and headed to bed to dream up a solution for this mess. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) was one of many leaders who said it never should have come to this. "Why... when the President had both houses of Congress under the control of his party, did he opt not to pass a full budget for fiscal year 2011? ... [I]t was... either irresponsible on the one hand or deliberately malicious on the other."

"Malicious" is sending 800,000 federal workers home because you think Americans should be financially responsible for their neighbors' abortion. Yet that's what this entire debate boils down to--the Left's stubborn insistence that our nation directlyfund the killing of innocent children. The D.C. abortion ban has been standard policy for years, counting among its supporters the very liberals fighting against it today. Forty-ninecurrent Democratic senators--including Sen. Reid and Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.)--voted for spending bills with this same provision in them. Sen. Reid did so 10 times! So when the Majority Leader complains that, "We [d]on't have time to fight over the tea party's extreme agenda," know that it's an agenda he's voted for almost a dozen times before!

Politico also wonders about the Democrats' sudden objections. "The language didn't prevent Obama from voting for appropriations when he was in the Senate, nor did it stop him from signing at least one bill into law." Contrary to what Planned Parenthood would like you to believe, this rider doesn't outlaw abortion in the District. It simply protects the government from paying for it. People in the nation's capital are--and have always been--free to use their own money for abortions. The language doesn't end federal funding for women's health services or family planning. It simply says that if you provide abortions you can't get federal monies.

Unfortunately, liberals never let the truth get in the way of a good sound bite. At yesterday's Planned Parenthood rally, Sen. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) actually stood before reporters and said the new Republicans came to Congress "to kill women." During her turn, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), declared that there is "a war on women!" And she's right. There is a war--on unborn women. To their argument that these policies don't belong on a budget bill, Democrats never seemed to mind when they were attaching their own. The media picked up on that hypocrisy yesterday. "They have no place in spending bills, the top Democrats have said during the latest budget debate. Unless, of course, they're Democratic policy riders." In 2009, liberals crammed everything from same-sex partner benefits to school voucher repeals and cheaper birth control for Planned Parenthood clinics into their continuing resolutions. Now that the shoe is on the other party's foot, it's "politicizing the debate."

Apparently, moderate Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) agrees. In an interview with MSNBC, the self-described "pro-lifer" said Republicans need to "move on" from Planned Parenthood because "there are other, bigger battles that we're fighting." Sen. Toomey may be quick to compromise his core beliefs, but conservatives didn't come this far to give up. The nation can survive a temporary government slowdown, but it cannot survive the coming fiscal and moral meltdown that a failure to act will bring. Thank yall

Thank yall for yalls responses. very informative. It does pain me alot because the US was such a great country and for it to just fall down like this and alot of the people to just turn away from our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST who loved us and has blessed us abundantly. But I am very excited to know that JESUS is coming back soon. This is why it is important for us to get his word out. Easter is soon but why wait till Easter to fill the church. FILL IT UP NOW I SAY.
