Sign of the times ... I was saddened to hear of yet another "christain" professor who, although he said he was a "christian" now states he has rejected the faith and is now pursuing New Age theology. It drives home the point that in this age of grace, how important it is to stay planted in Him .. Rom 6:5kjv .. 1Cor15:1-4kjv

Rom 1:21-...Because when they knew & recognized Him as God, they did not honor Him & glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile & God-less in their thinking with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations & their senseless minds were darkened.

Claiming to be wise, they became fools professing to be smart, they made simpletons of themselves...

1Cor3:18-20...Let no person deceive himself. If anyone among you supposes that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool, let him discard his wordly discernment and recognize himself as dull, stupid & foolish without true learning & scholarship that he may become truely wise. Isa 5:21 .. For this world's wisdom is foolishness, absurdity, and stupidity with God, for it is written, He lays hold of the wise in their own misleading & fallacious cunning, trickery & craftiness.

2 Tim 3:5 For (although) they hold a form of godliness they deny and reject and are strangers (unaquainted with the Holy Spirit & refuse to listen to & repent) the power of it (their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession) Avoid (all) such people (turn away from them)...Mark 3:29

Eze 28:17 … Your heart was proud & lifted up because of your (self perceived / philestinian) beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your (self lust / narcissistic) splendor.

I pray that he and any others will see the error of their ways and return unto Christ Jesus before the end of this age of grace ..

Isa 55:6...Seek, inquire for, and require YHVH while He may be found, claiming Him by necessity and by right, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to YHVH and YHVH will have love, pity, and mercy for him and to our God for YHVH will multiply to him YHVH's abundant pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says YHVH

I wonder how satan brought him down and if he was ever a true Christian. what is sad is that he is in a position to be "looked up to" by others, particularly the young.

IMHO .. I think many are attracted by "religion" for "social status / currency / merchandising" which is a form of self rightness Eze 28:16kjv , educational. intellectual, financial, political reasons ...

We all need to consider prayerfully & accept that YHVH is also speaking down through the ages through His Word specificly to us also .. 1Cor15:1-4

God help me.

Please, pray for me. I come under pressure everyday. I don't want to just be an outward professor, but a true disciple of Christ. I'm in pain, I've been plagued by nightmares and tormented when I wake up. I feel like this is a warning of judgement. Please, pray for me. I do not think I have brought forth much fruit, hardly any of my knowledge. I'm honestly scared for the rapture now.

In faith believing .. religion is man's works to make himself righteous .. that is the "letter" of the law and when I or you attempt a works based religion, we fall short & add separation to the relationship the Father through the Son empowered by the Spirit wants for us which cannot be attained by works .. The free gift of grace goes against almost everything we have been taught by everybody, other than the Holy Spirit, because it is the way of the fallen adamic world ..

Christ Himself is interceding for you, so even if you are by yourself, you have the ultimate support system that no earthy human can come close to. What you can do is commit to daily Bible study, start there .. Let Christ speak to you through the Scriptures .. it is one of the highest forms of worthship Psa 138:2kjv

The fruit will come in due time / maturity, not until, and it is never your fruit. The increase is always the Husbandman's John15:1 .. 1Cor3:6 .. Eph5:26 .. but you need to be preparing the soil of your heart for the seed / Word of God and treating it as precious Hb#5459 from your :

@FTGF

Have you tried listening to the bible on an ipod or mp3 player when at work or driving to and from. I also download a lot of sermons on sermonaudio.com, Paul washer has a lot of good sermons on there. I also listen to Bryan Denlinger, Mike Hoggard, Richard Bennett, Leonard Ravenhill, C.H. Spurgeon, and Paris Reidhead to name a few. They are all free to download and will work with an ipod or mp3 player or you can burn to a CD and listen that way too. It really helps me but also I will be praying for you.

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Now when you read this in it's context, what do you see?
I know that what I see is A LOT of GOD doing HIS WILL, according to the purpose of HIS will, which HE lavished upon us. You and I doing nothing for the free gift of Jesus Christ.

Peace with God Through Faith

1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoiced in hope of the glory of God. 3More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

You see, the bible is ALL about Jesus Christ and what He has done, not about what you and I can do...on the contrary, the flesh profits nothing.

But, thanks be to God for for his inexpressible gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Heirs with Christ

12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

Trust in Christ and His Righteousness, for His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. Matt 11:30

IT IS THE LORD’S BATTLE

No matter what kind of trouble you are in, you simply cannot extricate yourself
from it in your own power.

In order to understand how God delivers us from afflictions, we must study how
He delivered Israel from their bondage. The Bible says: "Now all these things
happened to them as examples, and they are written for our admonition” (1
Corinthians 10:11).

Everything that happened to Israel—their bondage, trials, and deliverance out
of Egypt—are testimonies and examples to us today.
The Lord told Moses, "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in
Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their
sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them . . .” (Exodus 3:7-8).

God’s Word clearly says here, "I know their sorrows." Beloved, if that does
not give you comfort in your affliction, nothing will. The Lord is saying, "I
know what you're going through, but this is not your battle. The devil, is too
much for you, so I have come down to deliver you!"

"I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I
will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched
arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your
God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from
under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I
swore" (Exodus 6:6-8).

Try all you want to deliver yourself—dream, scheme and manipulate—but in
the end, God says, "This is My work!"

When David came against the giant, he said: "Then all this assembly shall know
that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the
Lord’s” (1 Samuel 17:47).

David did not take matters into his own hands and say, "I’m going to bite the
bullet and do this in my own strength." No! He knew this was the Lord’s
battle.

Leaving the Way, the Truth, the Life of Christ Jesus

Php 3:18...For there are many, of whom I have often told, and now tell you even with tears, who walk (live) as enemies of the cross Christ (that choosing fallen adamic thinking / self deception results in sin & continuing in sin refusing the lesson of repentance also has a reward / fruit .. the wages of sin is death, no flesh glory 1Cor1:28-29)...
They are doomed and their state is eternal misery (perdition) their god is their stomach (their fallen adamic thinking, appetites, their sensuality, worth ship), and they glory in their shame, siding with earthly things and being of their party (partisan / gang think).

2 Thes 2:10...And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing (going to perdition) because they did not welcome (matzah: eagerly devour) and love (shabua: earnestly remember) the Truth but instead refused to fully love It (abandoning fallen adamic SELF worth ship) that they may be saved...Therefore Truth departs from them .. Mark 4:24-25 .. and upon them comes misleading influences, a working of error and strong delusion which makes them believe what is false...Rom 1:25.

2John 9...Any one who steps out .. Isa 14:13 .. of God and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ (who is not content with what Christ did, is doing, or will do in the future according to His Living Word) does not have God; but he who continues to live (sukkah stay planted) in the doctrine / teaching of Christ (does have God), he has both the Father and the Son.

I got an email from FTFG

I got an email from FTFG saying he is leaving the site because of "doctrinal issues" with other members. I'm not entirely sure what he is referring to, but we need to pray that the Lord will draw him in and give him peace, understanding, and assurance of salvation.

Sorry to hear that......

I remember him mentioning going through some trials with family, ect. but doctrinal issues was a bit of a surprise.
I second your admonishments mrhenry.
These are the sort of things that drive a person to heart felt prayers and earnestly seeking for the truth.
May it be the Lords will.

fruit .. carefully live .. family .. receiving salvation by faith believing .. 1Cor15:1-4
seed .. carefully plant .. son .. choosing to walk fruitfully in the Spirt .. Dan 11:32

1Tim 3:16kjv .. And great & important & weighty we show forth, is the hidden truth of True godliness: He God, was made visible in human flesh, justified & vindicated in the Holy Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and taken up to glory ..

2Tim 3:16 .. Every Scripture is God breathed, given by Holy Spirit inspiration, and protitable for instruction, for reproof/conviction of sin, for correction of error/discipline in obedience, and for training in righteousness/mature living in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose & action ..

2Tim 4:1-2...I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus Who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (in the light of) His coming and His Kingdom: Herald and preach the Word! Keep you sense of urgency (stand by, be at hand and ready), whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. (Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome, you as a preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong / following after the fallen adamic ways). And convince them, rebuking & correcting, warning & urging & encouraging them to repent, being unflagging & inexhaustible in patience & teaching.

I was afraid that would happen. I sensed he was reaching a fever-pitch of sorts over the last couple of months due to many of his posts. He seemed to be in a very uncomfortable, near agony, place in his spirit. I've been praying for him and will continue to do so.

On the doctrinal issues, I remember him talking/asking recently about it being possible to lose your salvation. Think he felt a great burden to save souls and felt he wasn't accomplishing this, so was possibly in fear for his soul. (He mentioned he was in fear of the Rapture above...)

On the outside chance you're checking in, FTGF...Jesus loves you deeply. He is your Intercessor, your Kinsman Redeemer. Why would He stand before God, beside you, defending you against Satan's accusations, with everything hanging on your good deeds, acts? Upon the number of souls you won for Him? He wouldn't. His act of sacrificial death is the only thing that could cover you (all believers), enable you to stand before God as acceptable. That is what a Kinsman Redeemer does. Pays the price of freedom.

Again, Jesus loves you, FTGF.
